ACCESS

One of Alabama's recent technology initiatives is called ACCESS, which stands for Alabama Connecting Classroom, Educators and Students Statewide. According to the website, http://accessdl.state.al.us/, the program offers opportunities and options for public high school students in the areas of Advance Placement, electives, and other courses in which they might not otherwise have access to.
ACCESS is a free tool for students. It is offered at school during regular school hours. ACCESS also offers distance learning programs to students as well. The program allows students to take classes online and through video-conferencing. So a student can take an AP class from another high school that without ACCESS he would not be able to do.
I think that ACCESS is an awesome program. This offers students from smaller schools the opportunities to take the AP classes that they want and would otherwise not be able to take. It gives every student every opportunity to take the classes they want to via video-conference if another school offers that class.
